Matific provides several class settings that allow teachers to control how students interact with certain features in their learning zones.
This article explains how to manage:
These settings can help teachers create the learning environment that best suits their classroom and school policies.
Accessing Class Settings
Click Class Management from the side navigation bar
Select your class
Click Class Settings (...) at the top right and click Manage Class Details
Click the Advanced Settings tab
Disable Parent-Assigned Activities
By default, parents can assign activities to their own children through the Parent Platform.
If teachers need their class to focus only on teacher-assigned work and their personalized learning pathway, parent-assigned activities can be disabled for that class.
How to Disable Parent-Assigned Activities
Open the Manage Class Details tab. (See how: Accessing Class Settings)
Click Advanced Settings
Select the Mathematics subject
Locate Parent-assigned Activities
Toggle the setting Off
Click Save
💡 When disabled, parents can still view their child’s progress but cannot assign activities to students in that class.
Disable Explorers
Explorers allows students to view their classmates' progress and achievements on Matific.
If your school prefers a more private learning experience, teachers can disable this feature for their class.
How to Disable Explorers
Open the Manage Class Details tab
Click Advanced Settings
Locate My Fellow Explorers under the General tab
Toggle the setting Off
Click Save
💡 When disabled, students will no longer be able to view their classmates progress and achievements on Matific.
Enable or Disable StarMaster Anonymization
StarMaster is Matific’s student leaderboard feature that allows students to compare their progress with classmates.
Anonymization hides student names on the leaderboard and replaces them with anonymous names, helping schools balance motivation and privacy.
How to Manage StarMaster Anonymization
Open the Manage Class Details tab
Locate StarMaster Student Leaderboard and ensure it is toggled On
Once the Anonymise Student Names toggle is visible
Toggle the setting:On to anonymize student names
Off to display student names
Click Save
💡 Anonymization only affects how names are displayed on the leaderboard and does not impact student progress or reporting.
