Focus Topics help teachers guide what your students learn in Matific.
Why Use Focus Topic?
Instead of assigning specific activities, teachers can select key concepts (like fractions or multiplication), and Matific will guide students toward those skills across Adventure Island, Arena, and Training Zone.
How to set a Focus Topic
- Click Activities in the side navigation bar
- Click Set Focus and click Add Focus Topic
- Choose who it applies to:
- Whole class
- Groups
- Selected students
- Set the start and end dates
- Select the curriculum and grade level
💡 Tip: Select a broader grade range to include prerequisite skills for students who need extra support. - Choose one or more topics or subtopics
- Click Add Focus to save
💡Teachers can also set multiple focus topics and schedule them for coming weeks as well.
Flexible Ways to use Focus Topics
- Teachers can make Focus Topics even more flexible and powerful by:
Planning ahead by scheduling topics to align with upcoming lessons or units - Target specific students or groups to provide support or extension where needed
- Reinforce multiple skills by selecting more than one topic at a time
