StarMaster is a classroom leaderboard that ranks students based on the number of stars they earn by completing activities in Matific.
It creates a sense of friendly competition by showing students how they are progressing compared to their classmates.
Why Manage StarMaster?
You may choose to enable or disable StarMaster to:
- Encourage motivation through friendly competition
- Promote consistent engagement with activities
- Reduce distractions if competition is not suitable for your class
💡 StarMaster resets every week, giving all students a fresh chance to climb the leaderboard.
How to Enable or Disable StarMaster
- Go to Class Management
- Select your class
- Click the More options (...) button and click Manage Class Details
- Click Advanced Settings
- Under the General tab locate the StarMaster Student Leaderboard option
- Toggle it On or Off
- Click Save
💡If you want to hide the student names in the leaderboard instead, toggle the Anonymise Student Names option.
What Happens When Enabled/Disabled?
Good to Know
- StarMaster is enabled by default when available
- Rankings are updated in real time
- The leaderboard resets weekly, but achievements (like crowns) are retained in the students Adventure book
