Introducing Assessments in Matific

We’re excited to introduce Assessments in Matific! (now available for grades 1-9)
These are ready-made tests designed by the Matific content team to help you easily evaluate your students’ knowledge and monitor their progress.

Key Features

Preview an Assessment

Before assigning the assessment, you can preview the full list of questions to ensure it’s the right fit for your class. When the assessment is set, the questions are randomised - each student will get the same test, but it will be different from any versions given in the past or future.

Setting an Assessment

  1. In the Assessments page, Click Set to assign the assessment.

  2. Select:

    • Who you want to assign it to (whole class or specific students).
    • The start date and time.
    • The end date and time.

  3. Click Set Assessment.

Once set, the assessment will appear as Scheduled on the Assessments page.

Student Experience

When students log into Matific while assessments are active, the assessment will appear first.
Students cannot access other learning zones of Matific until they complete it.

While completing an assessment:

  • Students can move between questions to review or change their answers.

  • They can skip questions they’re unsure about.

  • They can save and exit, returning later to finish (If they don’t return before the end time, any saved work will be automatically submitted.)

Before submitting, students will see a confirmation screen.

Once confirmed:

  • Their answers will be locked.

  • Full access to Matific resumes.

Viewing Results

Results appear in real time as students submit their assessments.

From the Assessments page, expand an active assessment to see class progress at a glance.

You can also explore for deeper insights:

  • Student-level results – see how each student performed.

  • Question-level results – identify which questions were most challenging.

  • Individual responses – review exactly how each student answered each question.

This detailed view makes it easy to identify learning gaps and provide targeted support where students need it most.
