Introducing Matific AI Teacher Assistant

 Matific AI Teacher Assistant is currently available in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. It is only available in the English locale, but support for additional languages and a gradual rollout to more regions will begin in early 2026.

The Matific AI Teacher Assistant is a new beta feature designed to help teachers access meaningful, real-time insights into student performance — all through a simple conversation!

What to Expect

  • The AI teacher assistant provides real-time insights on student progress, assigned work completion, and class trends.
  • You’ll get tailored activity recommendations, based on student progress, that you can preview and assign instantly.

Features of AI Assistant in Matific

Get help finding activities, planning lessons and identifying where your class needs support.

Find activities: You can find activities based on lesson goals, topics, or to help address knowledge gaps.

Outline a lesson plan: You can use generative AI to create learning objectives and lesson plans. It can help you get started, make lessons more engaging, and focus on specific areas students need to improve.

Identify and act on common misconceptions: AI can analyze your student performance to help you find common misinterpretations and remediation strategies.

Identify intervention students: The AI assistant can help you identify who might struggle with a certain topic, and provide helpful strategies to develop their skill further by introducing a topic to your class.

Generate reports: The AI assistant can help you create reports based on student performance data available in Matific.

Write summaries: You can write a short summary about a student's recent or annual performance, perfect for reporting.

Start A New Chat With The AI Assistant

  1. Navigate to the AI Assistant page.

  2. Select the class you'd like to get insights from and select the curriculum you'd like to use for recommendations.

  3. Type a question in plain language, for example:

    “Has everyone completed this week’s assigned work?”

    or

    “Suggest activities for tomorrow’s lesson on multiplication.”

Assign an Activity Using the AI Teacher Assistant

  1. Navigate to the AI Assistant page.
  2. Select the class you'd like to get activity recommendations for.
  3. Select the curriculum, textbook or standard you'd like to use for recommendations.

  4.  Type a question in plain language, such as:

    "Suggest activities for tomorrow’s lesson on multiplication."

  5. Click on the suggested activities to preview them.

  6. Assign the activity according to your preference.

The activity is now assigned, go to the Manage Activities page to review and make any further adjustments.

The AI Assistant has access to your class list and their student activity, assigned work, mastery and readiness reports as well as access to our content library.
The Matific AI Teaching Assistant currently uses Anthropic’s Claude model, hosted securely through AWS Bedrock.
No. We do not share or send any student or child data outside of Matific’s secure environment. Your privacy and data security are our top priority. Every interaction with the AI Assistant follows Matific’s strict data protection and privacy standards. All data remains safely stored within Matific’s private cloud in AWS, and is never used to train or improve the AI models we use.

No. Teachers can only ask questions about the classes they have access to in the class selector.
Yes! Teachers can now select their preferred curriculum for more tailored insights.
