Teachers- Side Navigation

We’ve updated the teacher site with a modern side navigation to make it easier to find your way around and move smoothly between areas.
If you’ve used Matific before, you may notice that some pages have moved as part of a recent navigation update. The structure below will help you quickly re-orient.

Everyday teaching actions

These are the areas teachers use most frequently during planning and teaching.

Dashboard

The Dashboard gives you real-time metrics of your class.

From here, you can:

  • Monitor student activity and engagement
  • See progress at a glance
  • Identify students who are behind and may need support

This is often the best place to start your day as it helps you identify the gaps in your class.

Class Selector

Classes are grouped by subject and further categorized by class grade.

  • Opening the Class menu and clicking on a subject will expand your classes.

AI Assistant (Beta)

The AI Assistant helps you explore insights and get guidance related to your class and student data.

Use it to:

  • Ask questions about student progress
  • Get support interpreting data
  • Explore next steps more efficiently

Live Classroom

The Live Classroom lets you monitor what your students are doing right now.

Use it during lessons to:

  • Track live progress
  • See which students are active
  • Respond quickly if students get stuck

Activities

The Activities section is where you plan, assign, and manage learning.

From here, you can:

  • Set Focus topics to guide student learning
  • Find Activities to assign
  • Access Workshops
  • Manage your My Activity List

This is your main workspace for preparing and directing learning experiences.

Monitoring Progress and Insights

These areas support reflection and deeper understanding of progress.

Reports

The Reports section is designed to give you deep, real-time analytics into your students progress and it goes beyond day-to-day activity. Each report answers a different teaching question, from engagement to mastery and readiness.

The reports you see depend on the subject you’re teaching.

Student Activity Report

The Student Activity Report shows how students are engaging with Matific over time.

Use this report to:

  • See which students are active or inactive
  • Understand time spent on activities

Identify patterns in independent vs assigned work


💡This report is available for both Mathematics and Financial Literacy and is often the best place to start when reviewing engagement.

Assigned Work Report

The Assigned Work Report helps you track progress on activities you’ve assigned.

Use it to:

  • See who has completed assigned work
  • Identify students who are in progress or haven’t started
  • Follow up on overdue assignments

💡This report is available for both Mathematics and Financial Literacy and is especially useful for classroom follow-up and accountability.

Student Mastery Report (Mathematics only)

The Student Mastery Report shows how well students understand mathematical concepts over time.

Use this report to:

  • Identify strengths and gaps in conceptual understanding
  • See mastery progression across topics
  • Support targeted intervention and planning

💡This report is available for Mathematics, where topic mastery is tracked across structured learning pathways.

Readiness Prediction Report (Mathematics only)

The Readiness Prediction Report helps you understand how prepared students are for upcoming mathematical concepts.

Use it to:

  • Anticipate learning challenges before they appear
  • Identify students who may need extra support
  • Plan instruction proactively

💡This report is available for Mathematics, where predictive modelling is used to support progression.

School Leaderboard (Mathematics only)

The School Leaderboard shows how activity and engagement compare across classes within a school.

Use this report to:

  • View high-level engagement trends
  • Encourage participation and motivation
  • Celebrate progress at a school level

💡This report is available for Mathematics, where comparative engagement data is supported.

Class Management

❗The Manage My Classes and Manage My Students pages are now merged together into Class Management.

The Class Management page shows all of your classes, grouped by subject.

From here, you can:

  • View class details
  • Manage students
  • Check account setup and access

This area is typically used when setting up or updating classes, rather than day-to-day teaching.

Help

The Help section provides guidance and support as you use Matific.

It’s especially useful if you:

  • Are new to Matific
  • Want step-by-step instructions

Need help understanding a feature

Admin Only actions (school-level management)

These options are only visible to school administrators.

Admin / Class Switcher

The Admin/Class switcher allows administrators who also teach to quickly move between:

  • The Admin Dashboard (school-level view)
  • The Teacher Dashboard (class-level view)

This makes it easy to change context without having to log out.

All Classes

The All Classes page allows admins to:

  • View all classes across the school
  • Manage class details centrally

All Teachers

The All Teachers page shows:

  • Which classes teachers are assigned to
  • Teacher details and management options within the school

School Settings

The School Settings section is where admins manage:

  • The school profile
  • School-level configuration and details

💡If you’re an administrator, use the Admin/Class switcher to move easily between school-wide and class-level views.
